  • Overview

    To manage the Product Operations activities in Europe. This includes commercialization, engineering, service, and also Go-To-Market (GTM) operations across the company.

    The individual will be responsible for managing the life of the product after initial product scoping by the Product Marketing team and also once ranged with a customer where applicable.

    Acting as the leader of the GTM team the individual will act as an interface to all internal teams (sales, marketing, service, supply chain as examples), to ensure the product is driven through to launch within HTC.

    Responsibilities

    General Responsibilities

    • Member of the European Leadership Team. Responsible for Products and Engineering, Service and GTM.
    • Lead the Product introduction, execution and maintenance across Europe. Making sure products are the right fit for the regional they are launching in.
    • Lead the European service model, making sure all aspects meet our European expectations, as well as staying within agreed budget parameters.
    • European Go To Market Execution. Driving the senior management discussions to get the ‘right’ plan for European launch. This is working across all European teams. Aligning all to the next steps to bring devices to market successfully.
    • Product Point of contact for all Legal and contractual issues relating to products and features. Representing the interests of HTC externally with partners.
    • Overall responsibility on all Product matters pre, during and post launch for Europe.
    • Overall responsibility on all Engineering matters pre, during and post launch for Europe.
    • Point of escalation for all Product Issues within the European business.
    • Point of Liaison for the business on product matters i.e. PR, Training and After sales.
    • Pre-briefing (Representing the company as a product advocate to journalists and other press before launch) – subject to media training.


    Engineering

    • Deeper understanding of a product and product software to allow consulting services to outside companies using HTC equipment
    • Management of all technology rollouts in EMEA
    • Continuation of the improvement programs (expanding automated test, extending User trial).
    • Driving deeper engagement throughout the business with the engineering function.
    • Enhancing the support model for EMEA regions to access and utilise resources efficiently.

     

    Service

    • Management and optimisation of service flows within the European region.
    • Control of complete service costing in Europe, making sure all pricing for individual customer is clear and accounted for before any invoice pricing is delivered to a customer.
    • Control of service contract management.
    • Enhancing the support model for EU regions to access and utilise resources efficiently.
    • Support after sales activities by providing all necessary importation documents for spare parts and managing problematic enterprise customer solutions.
    • Follow local regulations impacting our after sales activities, supporting the Call center team in understanding these new laws


    Regional project managers

    • Initiate and manage overall product requirements for hardware, software, packaging and application development with respect to launching products with carrier customers. Collaborate with key functional areas in order to ensure contributions are aligned with product strategy and road map.
    • Manage and prioritize product hardware, software and application issues based on organizational needs.
    • Communicate openly and provide regular updates to local teams and senior management regarding product launches and initiatives, including risk assessment and monitoring, in order to understand vulnerabilities and contingency planning to product launch planning.
    • Deliver product for new and existing customers, including all stages of lifecycle: concept, development, technical evaluation, technical approval, launch and sustaining activities.

     

    Go- To – Market Managers

    • Track a product through the whole of HTC Europe organization to make sure a successful launch.
    • Highlight two senior management where blocking points to a project launch and also next actions with individual teams to make a successful complete regional product launch.
    • Coordinate across the business effectively to ensure that the local teams are working closely with all departments this includes but is not limited to regional Marketing and Sales managers on the development of a successful creative execution of our product propositions.
    • Communicate openly and provide regular updates to team members, peers and senior management regarding product launches and initiatives, including risk assessment and monitoring to understand vulnerabilities and contingency planning to product launch planning.

    Person Specification

    Experience

    • 8+ years of prior Product Operations Management experience, ideally in consumer tech industry.
    • 5+ years’ experience with strong technical or product expertise including the ability to manage multiple Product teams.
    • 3-5 years’ work experience in a leadership role, managing and influencing key stakeholders.
    • Product background together with product management/delivery/programme and service management experiences and familiar with core product design/development processes.
    • Deep understanding of new technology trends.
    • Proactive approach to work in cross-functional teams.
    • Accurate understanding of the local business and market trends in the mobile industry.
    • Experience of building and maintaining senior level relationships; ability to influence.
    • Diplomatic and open communicator, practical and pragmatic approach.
    • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
